Executive Staff


Deputy Division Chief Marcie Griffin has 23 years of law enforcement experience with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).  She began her career with the Department as an Agent in the Riverside District office and during her tenure, was promoted through the ranks to her current position as Deputy Division Chief of Southern Division.  She has served in districts throughout the state including, Riverside, Oakland, LB/Lakewood, Cerritos Enforcement Office and Southern Division.

Deputy Division Chief Griffin has excelled in her law enforcement field and was selected to assist the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) with clandestine laboratories and drug manufacturing and distribution issues.  She assisted with investigations that involved the sale of precursor chemicals from alcohol licensed premises.    She also spent several years assigned to the Inland Regional Narcotics Enforcement Team (I.R.NE.T.) which investigated major narcotics trafficking in Southern California.   The training, experience and, most importantly, the lasting, professional relationships she developed during these assignments have been beneficial throughout her career. 

Prior to beginning her career with ABC, Deputy Division Chief Griffin obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento.  This provided an educational foundation which prepared her for success as a law enforcement career professional. 

Deputy Division Chief Griffin was selected to attend and was successful at the DEA Group Supervisor Institute on Leadership and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS).  Deputy Division Chief Griffin remains an active FBI-LEEDS member.  She also recently completed the IDI Leadership, Mentoring and Coaching training course.   She values strong leadership and enjoys being a part of developing new leaders.
