Deputy Division Chief Melanie Perry has been employed with ABC since 2010. She was promoted to Supervising Agent in the Palm Desert District Office in 2017 and served as the Supervising Agent in Charge of the Sacramento and Redding District Offices from 2020.

Deputy Division Chief, Northern Division

DDC Melanie Perry oversees the Bay Area Enforcement Office, Santa Rosa District Office, and the San Jose and Salinas District Offices and brings more than 17 years of law enforcement experience to her position.

Melanie began her career with ABC in 2010 as an Investigator Trainee in the Monrovia District Office and has held various assignments throughout Northern and Southern California including the San Marcos and Riverside District Offices, Professional Standards Unit, Training Unit, and Recruitment & Retention Unit.

Melanie has managed several large-scale enforcement operations and collaboratively managed some of the department’s most critical enforcement programs such as Internal Affairs investigations, agent recruitment, and the Field Training Program.

Melanie has been a member of the National Liquor Law Enforcement Associations Professional Development Committee since 2021. The committee serves as a collaborative effort in research and development of training needs, strategies for enforcement, and best practices within the field of liquor law enforcement nationwide. She believes in utilizing innovative approaches and ideas, collaborative efforts, and providing the tools and resources to agents in the field in order to effectively serve the people of California.

Melanie obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University. While attending Chapman University, DDC Perry was an intern with ABC in the El Monte District Office.
